And oh hey, I was reviewing the S9 episodes as they came out, wasn't I? Kind of lost a couple weeks on account of The Last Bronycon(tm), and therefore thinking fandom was over after that. Ehem.
Still, when I saw the title and description of this week's ep, I got ... curious. And now that I've watched it?
Rarity, do you remember that little talk we had about breaking and entering?
[I'm not the only one who, upon seeing the above picture and quote together, is reminded of Squidward saying "Spongebob, remember that little talk we had about personal space?" upon realising Spongebob's standing right next to him in the cashier booth, in the episode where Plankton switches with Mr. Krabs - right?]
Imma just... catch a few more of these early releases real quick. Saw someone I follow put up a thought piece they had on this, so kinda been eager to make it this far so I can finally give it a read without spoilers. Well, beyond now knowing which two characters this seem to be about.
This episode brings with it a great loss. For almost nine seasons, we know about Spike's legendary crush on Rarity. And now that crush is gone, because Spike's heart has found someone else than Rarity. Sparity is a thing of the past.
